You'll find it's bonded "glued" to the glass, if you try to pull it off it will probably crack the screen as it is laminated and each layer is only 2mm thick or so.
Your best solution would be cutting the tint to size and cutting around the mount putting the split above the mirror mount. As you would cut wall paper around a light switch in a cross then trim to size with a sharp blade.
It is legal to tint car windows in San Diego if vehicle has dual side mirrors. Windshields cannot have after-market tinting. If the rear window (rear windshield) receives aftermarket tint, the vehicle must have exterior rear view mirrors on both the left and right sides of the vehicle.
