Car starting issues

If you have spark and good fuel pressure. The only way it wouldn't start is that the timing is off.

Sounds like a stuck starter solenoid.

sound like theft security problem.when you try ten minutes did you leave ignition switch on position for ten minutes until the security light turn off then turn off ignition switch for 5 seconds then try starting vechicle.when you do 10 minute trick security light has to turn off or disappear when you see security light go off turn off switch 5 seconds then try starting vechicle.

sorry this is a dealer only fault for repair ,you could try a auto locksmith who can re-programme the keys in case they are faulty ,keep all modern car keys away from any source of electrical EMF like a mobile phone or a microwave

look for security light when you turn on key if it lights and doesn't go off leave key on for ten minutes then turn key off and then try to start

Sounds like your anti theft security, first relearn the key. Insert key in the key switch and turn key without starting.Leave key this position for 10 minutes and then turn key off for 2 minutes.Do this 3 times.Try this and reply if it worked for you.

my sister in-laws did the exact same thing. we replaced fuel filter pump and injectors. All the time it was old spark plugs. It kept cranking but wouldn't start. spent less than $20 on new spark plugs and it fired right up and is still running strong

It could be a problem with the passlock system. Does the security light flash when you try to start it?

Before you replace the fuel pump, I would check the cheaiper parts first. Such as fuel filter and injectors.

My GMC Dealer said that the problem is caused by a short in the ignition/electrical system. (seems to be a problem for many). He also said that the ABS will NOT actually work while the light is on! All my dash warning lights, radio/clock, and sometimes even ignition(turning key) have problems. The car is drivable but not working correctly. Short term solution: turn key ON, wait 10-15 min, turn off for a few minutes to 'reset' and then try to turn car on. Worked for me yesterday. Good Luck!
