Question about 1989 Chevrolet C1500
Truck has an intermittent starting problem. It starts fine for weeks and then for no reason when I turn the key, nothing but a click. The voltmeter registers about 10 volts and the temp guage buries. The engine does not turn over or start. After any number of times turning the key (clicking it) it starts (sometimes it takes 15 minutes of doing this sometimes a half hour). Last year I had Cheverolet install a new motor, distributer, battery, starter but problem continues making the truck unreliable.
The problem existed before the expense and effort of the new parts. Is it possibly related to ingnition switch, wiring, computer ???? Thanks.
The ignition switch is mounted on the top of the steering collumn, and is connected to the switcth with a rod. Top of column down by the pedals.. Remove and test switch.
