That would be my first thing to check, the voltage regulator - thumbs up for that one!

A battery may also become very hot if you discharge it very quickly through extremely power consuming equipment but I doubt this is the problem here. Or maybe you have a 2 kW car amp installation or something like that... :)

It sounds like the battery is being over charged. The voltage regulator may be faulty.

2000 town car. found battery drain on fuse 33, which is radio fuse. whart could cause radio to drain battery?

Seen this "mystery drain" many times. Check spark at the battery to see how big the drain is. For this simple test, blow away any (explosive) battery charging fumes. Leave one terminal on and gently touch the other to its post in fairly dark surroundings. Then try it again with the wires taken off the alternator. Your spark is now probably much less. Usually bad diodes leaking electricity backwards through the alternator cause this drain. Replace the alternator or the diode pack inside it. Some mechanics recommend actually measuring the drain.... hahaha. OK whatever.

Recently replaced alternator on 2003 chevy silverado 1500 with 4.3L motor. about a week later all dash lites and gauges shut off while driving. came back on after about 30 seconds. did this serval times on...

You may have a battery cable issue. Easiest thing to do first is to claen all the connections and look for the ground wires near the battery as they are involved. the battery as it wasn't being charged right as the old altenator was failing could have spewed alot of fumes and or acid around so all connections near the battery are likly a problem. the fuse panel too is also ;ikly as it's nearby. Pull and reinstall the fuses to get a new connection and een scrape the fuses legs as this is a common problem and is solved this way well.

When I come to a stop the cabin fills up with fumes that smell just like natural gas. This happens 100% of the time and is very strong at times. Any suggestions?

Your vehicle is brand new and that is your exhaust converter
It will eventually go away. If you go up hills,it gets real bad, as it heats up more.
If it continues for 6 months, have the dealer check it out, under warrantee

When engine is hot motor does not want to turn over, sort of like weak battery, after it cools it starts with no problem. sounds like timing problem, which way do you turn distributor?

You have a worn out starter then. The armature gets hot as you drive and will swell tight against the fields inside the starter. Upon when its cooled off the swelling subsides letting the starter to operate again

have your ignition coil checked, this problem happens when your ignition coil becomes hot and when you rest it cools down and it will work again. you don't repair ignition coil, instead you replace it with a new one.
