I am looking for a diagram that shows were the speed sensor is located on the transmission.Of a 96 Grand Caravan.

    your solenoid pack is prob stuck take it out and put it back in

Speed sensors in transmission shot. Replacement at Dodge dealer is about 190 bucks including labor.
Trans is in limp mode thats why no shift..

    take out the solenoid pack off and put it back in.. they tend to get stuck then dissconnect the batt for a min to reset your computer or you could always take it to the dealer ship and pay out of your *** for something you could fix yourself.

Transmission does'nt shift gears 1996 dodge grand caravan 3.8l mototr


Check the linkage, as the rods have nylon clip-on ends that connect to the transmission. They sometimes pop off the tranny.

1996 dodge grand caravan transmission will not shift out of 1st gear, speedometer doesn't work either


Mounted on the trany is a speedometer sensor. The vehical will not up-shift it, sensor, is malfunctioning. The vehicles computer doesn't know that it is not going fast enough to change gears.

sounds like trans speed sensor. Need to have the sensor checked and replaced.

1997 dodge caravan wont shift out of first gear


Yep ,sounds like limp mode ,should be in second gear.
Try,key on engine off,depress accelerator to floor 3 times within 5 seconds.Should reset trans.
