Before you do that check for voltage diffrance when car is running to when its not if there is a half volt diffrance your alt is working the next step would be to do an amp draw test disconnect posotive battery terminal then connect a amp metter in series with the wire and check for amp draw if there is an amp draw thats whats killing your battery not the alt the next step would be to find what still has power when the ign is off

try disconnecting the alternator overnight , the main cable from it to the battery , ive seen defective alternators run battery's down , also they make a device that can follow current thru an electric wire , I used to think they were expensive , but I now know they are not , there called non contact dc amp meters , and you can pick one up for less than sixty dollars now , you can use this device to follow the wires right to the defective device (probably the alternator )

Battery light stays on and drains battery. Brand new battery, alternator and starter?

What is year--make--model?
If something wrong with wiring circuit, somewhere, replacing the part won't fix it.
Make sure charging system is working properly. To look up wiring diagram, I need vehicle info. The battery lite is on even with key out? Unplug alternator, see if light stays on, check the alternator wiring connector.

Why is the Alternator not charging the battery?

If you're sure the alternator is ok then there is another issue. I would definitely check all the fuses. I would need the make and year to further assist.

I have a draw on the battery on my 85 Toyota pickup it kills a fully charged battery in about 2 hours... Ive put a volt tester between the disconnected positive battery cable and the positive battery post...

Go to You Tube Video & see how to do a parasitic CURRENT
drain test

What you have done so far with a test light & volt meter is basically
doing nothing

You need an amp meter & a wiring diagram, then pull fuses one
at a time, to get to the circuit that causes the drain, then use the
prints to test that circuit for voltage drops

I have a 99 ford expedition eb ive had the battery n alternator tested both reading at the right volts but the battery keeps dying.... ive made sure every thing was tight n where they should be n...

If the alternator is charging the battery, and it goes dead overnight, you have a short to ground in the wiring that is draining the battery.
You can try disconnecting the negative battery cable and see if the battery stays charged when the engine is off.
If it still goes dead, the battery could have a dead cell.

Its an ea 1992 modle the battery keeps going flat ive tried a new battery and a new alternator but its still happening any ideas??

Check all the battery cables at both ends including any to the starter solenoid to be sure they are clean and tight. Other than that you may have a bad wire somewhere shorting out and causing the drain on the battery.

2002 F250 7.3 drains batteries and dies

You need to have the alternator re-checked and be sure the wiring is clean & correct. If an alternator is working properly & wiring is correct, those batteries should be charging as you drive.
