Either confront the seller and tell him that you will take this to court. Or, take it to small claims court. (about $25 filing fee).

I tend to sell/trade many cars. I always right up a contract that I make the sellers sign so they can't go back on their word.

A guy has a LS for sale with a coolant leak. He says that 2 mechanics told him the transmission has to be removed to fix the coolant leak.

I am a mechanic and there is no reason for any coolant to be coming from tranny unless there is a bad freeze plug or the block is possibly cracked. i would look else where dont buy something you have to start putting more money into before you can drive it. there so many cars out there. good for you,for checking before you bought.

I have a 1999 bmw 323I I bought a transmission.thinking that it was the transmission cause it doesnt drive or revorce.they put in the transmission and still doing the same thing.what could it be!!

Could be the shifter cable broken, bad wiring, bad computer, or(If you bought a used on) could be a bad transmission. Unlikely both transmissions would have the exact same problem though.

My 1995 isuzu pickup manual shaking & vibrating while driving. What's the cause if this

1: engine misfiring, that be first to discover,. as if it does all things shake.

2: or just the shift lever is loose.. not the transmission actual shaking? y/n

3: ok it is not engine misfire or loose shifter, the box does shake.

so bad u-joins, or loose engine or trans mount.

4 :or bad transmission, (we use a stethoscope to listen to the box)

as you can see the process of elimination proves each.

so if all are good, then u-joints are bad.

ever test them? using HANDS ON WAY

turn them and look for the illegal play, seening play in the U-joint star ends, to yoke, the joint is bad, (man handle it. is what we do)

or watch 1000 youtubes of same. where guy levers it and sees and shows you what bad looks like, i cant tell you in words.

its called experience.

or get the car serviced?????

what is play, play is what happens with the bearing fails.

the bearing fails and the U-joint , now moves in bad ways.

its loose. and when loose, makes noise and for sure can shake.

the more play the more noise,.

and if it lets go, big bad happens. ever seen a car pole vault.

Will changing transmission fluid improve a bad transmission?

Usually not. There are fluids you can buy that may temporarily relieve the problem, but the best thing is to have a transmission guy look at it.

95 mustang v6 auto no forward gears but works in reverse had ****** rebuilt and same thing

Maybe your differential is shot and will only allow reverse spin or the transmission was not really rebuilt professionally. Was the transmission checked outside of your car after rebuild? Does your vehicle have a Powertrain Control Module (PCM)? Maybe the module went bad or faulty.

Transmission completely quit working with no noise. Reverse worked for 10 min and the quite as well.

It sounds like you may have a sun gear failure. Before we go there check the fuse for the transmission, make sure it's still good. Good luck and keep me posted.

I put chrome tips on my 2006 chevy 6.6 diesel. After a week they turned blue and the chrome flaked off. The tips look like **** now. What happened?

Chrome does not like diesels the exhuast get too hot and turn chrome blue and the chemicals in the exhuast will eat chrome. The best thing to use if you want chrome is to go polished stainless steel. this is a harder metal, will not blue as easy and will not rust

Transmission slips- Honda accord 2001

did you have a transmission flush? because its bad for older cars to get flushed because the acids they use eat away the seals and mess up your transmission more...i would recomend using some transmission conditioner

Clutch/transmission problem

When the car is sitting idling, and the clutch is not depressed,it makes a grinding noise because the input shaft of the transmission is being forced to turn by the clutch, which is engaged, and even though the trans is in neutral, the input shaft is still turning, and this is called "neutral roll over" noise, and some of the assemblies inside the trans are freewheeling around. The noise goes away when the clutch pedal is being depressed down, because the input shaft of the transmission is no longer turning. So it does sound like an internal transmission problem. It is still possible for the throwout bearing to be bad,and it can be checked when the trans is removed from the vehicle,Remove the throwout bearing from the trans input sleeve, and press down on the bearing flange and turn it at the same time.It should feel smooth and free.If it catches or feels gravelly, then the bearing is bad and that could be your noise. Also, turn the input shaft of the trans and same thing,if it's smooth and free or if gravelly feeling......Good luck.
