Question about 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT
My 93 3000gt needed a new speedo, and most of the lamps in the new instrument did not work! If the instrument cluster is out of the car, it's easy-
Take each light out it's respective position one at a time, and carefully remove the wire ended bulb from the holder...(Careful- the long ~30mm lights are clipped in to the holder and won't pull out)
Make sure the wire "lead" is situated correctly over the glass base, and give it a few strokes with a fibre-glass pen or similar to clean off the oxide. Re fit the bulb in the holder.
Clean the exposed copper part of the flex-print where the contacts of the holder twist over, and refit the holder and bulb into the back of the Instrument.
In my instrument cluster, where 20 of the 27 lights appeared open circuit when checked with a meter, only ONE was blown- all the others just needed the contacts cleaning in this way!
The cluster comes out of the binnacle quite easily as long as you remember to drop the adjustable steering column to the bottom first......
two screws under top of shroud, two clips at bottom corners- then disconnect two switch assemblies and remove- cluster held in by four screws only, two connector blocks held captive in binnacle.
Best of luck
