Cruise control fuse keeps blowing - 2000 Pontiac Firebird

Sounds like a wire got pinched in the reassembly. See what #14 fuse goes to and trace that circuit. Check around the cruise control area. Circuit plugs may have been switched. Lots of possibilities.

Check for any short circuit in cruise control, light control and switch. The positive wire is shorted to ground.

You'll probably need a shop manual to find out what is protected by that fuse. Could be a component or a problem in the wiring harness.

hot wire touching metal fuse blows so you don't burn up the wiring get it tested and fixed soon could be dangerous to keep putting in a new fuse

i would look at the brake pedal sitch for chffed wires or shorted to ground

most likely the clock spring needs to be replaced which is located in the steering column.

replace nuetral safty switch for gear shifter and check window relays

possibly the cruise cancel switch on the brake master cylinder is shorted, disconnect the switch and replace the fuse and see if everything comes back to life. the switch may be on the end of the master cylinder, Ford has had BIG problems and RECALLS for this switch going bad.

check under the dash st the brake pedal,there is a brake light switch which is tied into the cruise control,you could try unplugging that and see if it fixes the problem(remember you will have no brake lights while it's unhooked) if the problem is gone replace the switch.

my 1997 honda accord cruise control fuse blow and the car start up but will not go in gear. I change the cruise control fuse the car goes in gear then the fuse blow again. WHAT IS THE MY CAR PROBLEM.
