I have a 86 22RE 4WD Pickup and the brake sensor has gone off. I pulled the tires and there's still over 50% left on the pads, the rotors look good too. What could be the problem and what does the actual sensor look like?
The only sensor might be a brake fluid level sensor, so you would have a wiring connector going to your master cylinder reservoir. Otherwise, I believe the light is an alert that the emergency brake is on.
Testimonial: "You're right! I just needed to add a little brake fluid and the brake light went off. Thanks so much"

Are there small retainer clips on the studs still? More than likely its just rust built up on the center hub. Take some sand paper to the center hub, as long as e-brake is released and caliper is off, it will come off. I'm not familar with the toyota sienna's but if they have internal drum e-brakes, I would back off the adjuster if they do.

You need to go into the access hole in the rotor and back off the park brake shoes, which are located inside the rotor.

the tail light and brake lights are working from double contact bulbs. check the grounding, you dont have enough ground from one of the bulbs

I just had my brakes done (all 4 rotors replaced and brake shoes) on my 99 Camry, and when I took it for a test drive, the Brake light was on. The way I got rid of it was by disconnecting the battery for a minute or 2. It reset whatever was causing it to stay on.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2006 Sequoia which should have the similar if not the exact same brake system. Changing the pad is very easy and straight forward. No special wrenth was involved. Easier than sedans since no worry to damage the brake fluid pipe.
