SOURCE: rear a/c blowing hot, front a/c blowing fine, cold air
that is true, however there are doors under the dash that direct the air. it is apparent that at least 1 or 2 of theses doors are stuck or none functional. they are either operated by a cable or servo motor. unfortunately if it is a malfuntion motor that will have to be replaced. if it's a cable it could be that it come off and can be put back on. if it's just a jammed door then you can do this yourself and just fix the jam. these componants are located under the dash. when taking aprt the dash becareful because the are often times plastic pins and clips that can be broken during removal of the dash panel. take your time, chance are you will save your self some money. good luck. please rate this....thanks

the vent control is either vacuum (likely) or electrical.... you most likely need to find a vacuum leak.... start under the hood... you will see a round chamber with a vacuum hose on each end of it near the firewall and brake booster. it's slightly bigger then a film cannister. on my dad's van (also a dodge product) it is white. that is likely the issue....

SOURCE: Air not blowing out of the vents of my 2003 Dodge Durango
From what I hear it is a vacuum line issue. Mine is doing the exact same thing. So, I am going to get a diagram and try checking the vacuum lines to see if any are loose or tore
I go under the dash and feel the air flowing out the floor and it is coming out of the defrost, also. I noticed under the drivers side today that air is flowing and there seems to be a gap in between a part under there. There was some material stuff I saw around the edge of it that sticky brown stuff and it sometimes before came out my vents all the time. Anyways, not sure if my air is just not sealed good to blow out the vents but it is something that happened not long ago and we've not done anything under our dash area.

plurbaby236, The venting system for the front of your vehicle is controlled by a vaccum line coming from the engine the rear is electric. You may have a broken vacuum line in the engine compartment. When this happens the defrosters are a default setting. Check for a small vacuum line going through the firewall, usually near the middle and follow it. You may find that it is broken. A quick repair is to take a small piece of rubber hose that fits snuggly on the plastic vacuum hose. Good luck with this.
Testimonial: "Thank you!!!! I will look at it tomorrow when it's light out! Thanks!!!"
When I turn on the heat in my 2004 mazda mpv the front air vents blow heat but the rear air vents are blowing cold. I have adjusted every setting is there something I am overlooking.
