The system may need to be recharged, All A/C system will have small leaks though the seals and when you lose enough R134 the system will stop blowing cold air. I am guessing that it stop working now as to that there is no cold air but the blower fan is still working right?? Or do you mean that there is cold air and then it stops making cold air after 50 miles but will work again after a few hours of the can not running. If that's the case, the A/C relay may be bad and when it heats up the relay fails and needs to be replaced. Good luck and keep me posted.

It sounds like the Relay may have gone bad, try changing the A/C relay. In the relay box over the battery. The other thing that may have gone bad is the pressure switch on the accumulator and may need to be replaced.

Try replacing the relays first since the relays are easy to go to and inexpensive.

Good luck and hope this helps.

1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette overheating

Is it leaking antifreeze underneath the engine at all when it sits overnight? If so I would say the water pump is shot. If it isn't leaking, it could still be the water pump but it might(hopefully) just need a new thermostat. And driving it when it's hot like that to the point where it starts to run rough means you run it too much like that and your engine will blow up and there is probably already damage. So check it out before driving it to much more.

Rear ac does not blow cold air on 1999 oldsmobile silhouette

# 5 on front ac has to work for rear to work..if it works then there is a switch that controls the rear cost about $80..and the blower back by compressor also was out on mine...there is a fuse that can make #5 setting on front ac work check that first

1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette a/c blows cold in rear but the front vents blow hot air. A new condensor was just installed and a/c charged.

Hello.Maybe I can steer you in the right direction. There is an actuator temp, door motor. It may be hard to find, but most of them are on the bottom of the blower box about where the ac hoses and the heater core is,under dash. This motor has gone out,it switches from cold to hot ,and all in between .Hope this is helpful. If not let me know.roniecon@gmail.com
