There's a lot on any car that can cause loss in power.
A few of them are:
Mass air Flow sensor
Bad O2 sensors
Old oil or sludged oil
Bad Gas
Clogged catalytic converter
Loss of cylinder pressure or compression

I would start with the cheapest tests/fixes first
oil: if you haven't already and don't know the condition of your oil, change it. If your oil has sludge in it then you could have a leacking head gasket.

Next up, If your gas is bad fill the tank about half way and use lucus oil octane booster, and for a second half a tank pour in some seafoam engine cleaner. It will clean your fueling system, injectors, and pistons/chambers.

If those too don't help: get a compression test on the cylinders. Not expensive to have done, but could be expensive to fix if there is something wrong or the compression is leaking.

Next, go to a muffler shop and have your catalytic converter checked. A clogged or bad Catalytic converter may trap exhaust and keep it from exiting your exhaust system.
While your there you can have your O2 sensors checked.

If all of that is fine, replace the O2 sensors and the Mass air flow sensor. These components control the air fuel ratio. If they are going out your engine won't ever get the right amounts of gas and air to run properly.

It's a lot, but my general rule of thumb for trouble shooting any issue with a car is to start with the cheapest fix and work your way up.

2005 v6 trailblazer. Engine has loss of power and has a hard time excellerating. Also the car shakes really bad during idle.

Sounds like you may have a few bad ignition coils or worn sparkplugs. You will need to have the computer scanned to find out which ones are faulty.

Ignition or fuel delivery problem. You need to find out which. Did you also change the fuel filter?
Not restarting-you mean it still cranks over at normal rate? If so, when it won't start, check for spark at a plugwire. You should have a blue snapping spark. If spark is good, then ignition is probably good (buy a cheap spark tester at a parts store to avoid possibility of getting a shock-or, if you know how, just hold the metal end of plugwire 1/4 inch from a ground on the engine while someone cranks the car over--helps to use insulated pliers or gloves. Watch for that blue spark.) If spark is yellow, weak, or intermittent, ignition parts need to be diagnosed. Suspect the coil/coil packs, or the ignition module. A failing coil (or the ignition module) can work some till it's warmed up, then fail.
If ignition is good, then have the fuel pressure tested. The fuel pressure at the fuel rail must be at the proper pressure for injectors to work properly.
Good luck. And thanks for using Fixya.

Have a 2.2 4 cylinder distributorless chevy egine , acts like it might be out of time .Is there any way to check it ?

They dont really go out of time...These were common for bad sparkplug wires and ignition coils having open circuts...check for spark on plugwires 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 if there is no spark on 1 and 4 replace ignition coil the same with 2,3 the coils do fire the 2 sparkplugs simultainously ..and if there is an open circut in the plug wire only one wire will not have spark..if its a coil 2 wires will have no spark..

Replacing sparkplugs and wires on 2000 Mazda Protege 1.6 lt engine On top of cylinder 2 and ? are electrical components that attach to plugs. What are they? trying to find diagram and assistance for...

They are the ignition coils, the spark plugs are under them. When you have them off before pulling the spark plugs make sure the holes the plugs are in do not have oil in them, if so you will need new coil boots, plugwires and a valve cover gasket as well.
