Pull the release cable and prop it up with something, while it is prop'd up go tap on the fuel door, if that doesn't work then you may have to pry the fuel door open

Do not pry the door open as it will damage the fuel door. There is a problem with the cable that runs through the frame to the release mechanism on the door. Solution for now until the cable can be replaced is open your truck and just behind the fabric panel where the door is located you can reach in and manually operate the release to get the door open. You can still close the door and latch it but you will need to open it manually every time you fill up. Good luck!

Key stuck in drivers side door on a 2004 Civic

You may have to remove the lock barrel and play with the tumblers from the inside to release the key.It is likely that your new key requires filing down slightly to match the wear of your old key before it will work.Otherwise, replace your lock barrel.

My 04 Honda Civic fuel door will not open. Can

You can get to the latch through the trunk. In the trunk, pull the liner away from the area adjacent to the fuel door. You'll see a black cable that goes to the fuel door latch behind a metal frame. Reach in and turn the latch mount 90 degrees to release it from the fuel door frame. Your fuel door will now be open. You will need to repair or replace the cable, but at least you'll be able to fuel up for now.

2004 honda civic fuel door release not working. How to fix?

You can either replace the cables for $ 68.00 plus labor (fuel door release cable and trunk release cable are one in the same), or you can purchase a plastic cable assembly from www.fueldoorfix.com for $19.95 CAN (free shipping). Replaced one last week on a 2001 Honda Civic, and it worked like a charm. They have a short video clip showing how simple the fix really is, and it was rather simple.

Fuel tank door release, 2004 Honda Civic

The release cable is sticking or broken. To release the fuel door, open the trunk and pull off the fabric liner on the left side of the trunk. Behind this liner is the fuel door release cable; this cable leads to the fuel door and attaches with a twist-lock connector. It is cylindrical with two tabs. Twist the connector clockwise about 90 degrees and it should pull out, releasing the door.

Just remember, the fuel door will not stay closed until you put the connector back in.
