Could I have installed the gaskets backward and if so what would be the result?
If all of the holes are not lined up, you could have restrictions in the cooling and oil jackets between the head and block.
Everything lined up but after installed I realized the gaskets may be right and left. Also it is a 2005 3.5l.
Some of the ports look either restricted or blocked.
Well if you ask an auto parts store, they will tell you there are separate part numbers for left and right.

SOURCE: Where is the EGR valve
I saw on another forum...that it is on the rear of the motor on the passenger side. It also stated that it is easy to replace. I haven't looked yet.

Head gaskets don't cause overheating Usually they are a result of overheating. If the headgasket is bad one wil get leaking into the cylinders of coolant, which wil show up as milky oil.Like some one else stated ; have the radiator rodded out,(cleaned and fluashed).

sc1232ip, I think that this is definitely a head gasket problem. When the coolant boils out of the everflow bottle it is because combustion gases are getting by the gasket and heating the coolant faster than the radiator can cool it down and this is the easiet place for it to escape. Also the code po300 for a Chrysler is for a misfire detected. One of your cylinders are getting oil or coolant into them causing this. You didn't mention what color your exhaust fumes were. Are they white (coolant) and have a sweet odor to them or do they have a blue tint to them (oil). Another possibility is a crack cylinder head. Good luck with this.

When I look at the old gaskets I see the restricted and blocked ports are not the same left and right. I do not remember installing the new gaskets left and right. Anybody know the result of doing this? I seem to be running hotter than it used to.
