Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

97 jeep cherokee blows fuse #11

Help!!!! My 97 Cherokee blows fuse #11 every time I am in drive. It will run fine in reverse. I have checked the fans, O2 sensors, fuel pump and many other things. The wiring I have looked at seems to be fine, however, I have not removed the conduit on any of the wire. Could the short be occurring inside the conduit. One thing I have not tried is disconnecting the wiring to the transmission. I am not even sure of all of the components that are controlled through fuse #11. The fuse is listed as auto shutdown relay (oxygen sensor), but that falls way short of a decent description.

I think fuse 11 is transmission control module, powertrain control module, automatic shutdown relay, fuel pump relay.. most likely it could be an issue with the wirings from the tranny. Check this one out before opening the conduit

I think you have the reverse light switch usualy on the gearbox witch can be bad/doesn't work.
Thry findin it, it should be with only 2 wires and on the side of the gear box.

Check your throtle postition sensor. It monitors what postion the throtle is at and sends that info to the ecm. It will go bad and cause that problem.

You have a large wire that powers the ECM, it has rubbed through and is grounding out and blowing the fuse, locate the power source for the fuse under the hood, then look for damaged wiring, check places were the wires touches the body, it will not be easy, it takes time and a keen eye.
