Question about 1987 Mitsubishi Passenger
HI Guys, my Pajero starts fine first kit over every time. The primer is hard before I start, then the truck starts starving and shaking around blowing clouds of smoke. I then have to pump the primer as its soft. This is getting progressively worse and now not just once but twice or three times before it will stay running. After priming the first time I will normally get a KM down the road until it dies again. Once over the initial 2 -3 primes it runs fine until left stoped for 3-4 hours. I'm guessing its air in the feul system somewhere?I Have replaced some of the hoses. A machanic wants to charge me $2000 saying its an internal non return valve and labour intensive. This doesn't make sence to me as the primer is hard prior to start as if air is getting in prior to the primer and being dragged through???!!!! ANYONE ABLE TO HELP? please, thanks John, ps its a mitzubishi pajero 2800 deisel
Get a container with fuel(about 4 liters will do). put a hose from the Primer to the fuel container and another hose from the injection pump return line to the container. if it works fine then the air leak is between the tank and the primer.
