take off the cover on the top and bottom of the steering column just behind the wheel. pop the tilt lever out simply just by grabbing it and give it a good tug. then once you have the new switch and you get in there your going to need an inverted torx socket to remove the small bolts that hold the switch to the column. do not move the gear on the new switch make sure it lines up exactly as the old one did!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wheel speed sensors misadjusted, damaged , or metal shavings and other debree, since they are magnetic can give false readings from one of the wheel circuits. Over sized tires can give of false speed readings as well. there are many other causes including bad relay, control module, e.t.c. It is best to have the proper scan tool to diagnose an ABS problem

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board. It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.
SOURCE: how to replace a brake light switch for a 1989
i have a 1989 gmc sierra that is having brake light and rear parking light issues. recently my truck was hit from the front and taken to a body shop for repairs. a couple days after i got it back my tail lights started acting up. during the day when parking lights and headlights arent needed my brake lights work fine but when the blinkers are on the are very slow in blinking. once the parking lamps/headlights come on the brake lights nor rear parking lamps come on. what can i do to fix this

There's a switch at the top of your brake pedal. They wear out, chance are that's the problem, easy fix in the driveway.
