2001 buick century/ replaced fuel filter and still will not stay idleing also disconnected battery and connected back and started back no engine light on and car still will not stay idleing

Replacing a fuel filter or disconnecting a battery
have nothing to do with idle

If you have an Air Idle Control Valve on Throttle
Body clean it or replace if cleaning doesn't correct

1999 buick century stalls and chuggs at random

Try first to replace the fuel filter. Then if that don't work, have the sensors checked by an auto technician with a diagnostic tool that interfaces with the cars computer. Most places will do this for free.

My daughters 2003 buick century will not idle. she said if you keep your foot on the throttle it stays running but as soon as you let off, it will stall. Please help.

It could be one of two things...the fuel filter is dirty or the idle sensor is bad. Replace the fuel filter first...if the problem still persists, then have the idle sensor checked out and replaced if necessary.

1987 Buick Century - stalling out

I had a 1987 Century and when mine started acting like that I took it to a garage and they hooked it up to a computer tester for free. Is she getting the check engine light coming on? They found that mine was running (lean) which ended up being my fuel pump. Which is in the gas tank and can be pricey to get done, between $250-$350 and of course the filter would get done at the same time and that is only$20

Starts fine, Idles fine, Drives Fine for a while

you might want to chk. the crank sensor and or cam sensor. sounds more to me that it could be fuel problem. chk. fuel pressure. pump could be on its way out. don't be fooled by hearing the pump running as they sound like they are pumping but there not, at least not enought pressure to keep it running. pressure should be around 50 p.s.i.

The car has just developed sporadic stalling which has happened 3 times. Each time it has happen the car has had the A/C on and was decelerating off of a highway. The car just shut down. I put it in...

I had just wen through this with mine does it sometimes idle high  also look out for the cooling fan coming on and staying on even when just turning on the key cold if you experience any of these check the trouble codes for a i think 26 quad driver circut if you get anything that comes back as quad driver circut you must replace the engine control module. cheeper than replacing the car  mine is perfict now
