Yesterday engine failed & electric handbrake was locked when towed realised rear wheel on passenger side locked. Have tried manually releasing handbrake unsuccessfully. Lost electrics & have tried jump starting but no luck had to lock car manually etc. Today gears won't move out of park.
Have you tried applying foot brake before releasing park brake. You will need a good battery to release the brake with ignition on. Also you need to depress footbrake to move shift lever from PARK

Turn thr "Star wheel" between the brake pads with a screwdriver. Count the number of notches. Once you have the brakes freed up, reassemble and adjust using the same number of nutches in the opposite direction. You most likely have a cable stuck in locked position. If possible, DRY LUBE it. If not, Install a new cable or sleeve.

First, try rocking the vehicle a little. If it still doesn't help, I know this sounds backwoods, but hit it in the center of the hub with a good sized hammer, and the brakes will release. This is common with mechanical handbrakes. (rear wheels only)

need to replace your latch mechanism. did you try to spray a lubricant in the latch assy? there might be a clip thats broken instead of the whole latch...either way your going to have to take the door panel and inspect it.
