2004 Lincoln LS wont start after replacing intake gaskets

Possible that you could have put the distributor in 180 degrees out. Bring #1 piston up to top dead center with timing marks together on the harmonic balancer at crankshaft and pull the distributor cap off to see where the rotor is pointing. Should be pointing to #1 plug wire on cap.

1995 chevy full size van, cranks wont start Replaced fuel pump, rotor, dist. started once but now why does it crank but won't start?

It could be a bad fuel pump relay. Or the relay is not getting the proper signal from the pcm to turn on. If a new relay doesn't fix, have the relay's circuit checked.

Replaced the harmonic balancer and keyway, but the car won't start. The belts are turning all right.

Check that you have not damaged the crank position sensor or disconnected the wires to it . Check the air gap and the rotor for dirt and any thing that will prevent the sensor from working correctly.

Xh falcon timing problem. Ive just dropped the original motor back in and i set all the timing marks but it wont start. I pulled the dizzy cap off and it is out half a revolution so i set it again on tdc...

pull the distributor
turn the crank to tdc compression stroke ( remove n1 plug and put you finger over the hole to get compression stroke ) line the rotor button up with no 1 plug lead
move the rotor button back about 1/2 inch and insert the distributor
as you push it in the button will move around to line up
keep adjusting the button back until it lines up
tighten the distributor down

How to line distributor shaft when replacing ignition control module on a 1991 ford f150 v8 truck

Set the engine to the number one compression, and bring the timing mark to zero on the harmonic balancer.(or just bring the timing on the harmonic to zero). mark to match the plug wires to cap, remove the cap.(if you can remove the cap without removing plug wire) mark the rotor position to the engine using a scribe, mark the rotor to the distributor, mark the distributor to the engine using a scribe,Take the lock down bolt out and pull out distributor. when you reinstall line up all your marking and check timing.

Drove my 1998 yukon last night and parked in the driveway where it sat thru the blizzard chicago had last night.tried to start it this am but no luck. checked spark, fuel @ the shrader, battery, ground...

pull dist cap off and dry with a hair drier. also make sure air cleaner is clean and dry. You dont need to unhook plug wires just tip cap on side and dry with heat. and also check ign wires plugs for moisture which shorts things out.

1990 mitsubishi truck statred up one morning, reved up engine, then it jus died, it turns over but wont strat, i changed the coil, and cap and rotor, it still wont start,

Pull a plug wire and have some one crank the engine as you observe the end of the plug wire for spark DONT HOLD IT IN YOUR HAND WILL ITS CRANKING lay it next to metal if there is spark you will notice it arcing against the metal they do make a tester to do this but if you dont have one laying it next to metal will do. If you have no spark could be your crank sensor has gone bad if you have spark and it still doesnt start could be your timing has jumped.Have the codes extracted and see what it tells you good luck to you.
