2001 ford focus zx3 stalling

Here is what has been done on my car so far...changed pcv valve and hose, had the fdm fixed under recall, new fuel filter, fuel tank cleaned, cleaned and had mass air low check, and a new oxygen censor after the converter. but my idle runs high then drops quickly and stalls. does this when i come to any stops right hand turns mostly but left also. if i pump brakes can keep it from stalling some of the times. car also seems to sound rougher. any ideas? could it be my IAC or TPS?

thanks

It could be a lot of things, check the gas cap, vacuum leak, IAC, may need a tune-up ( check plugs, wires, air filter), seizing pulley, timing issue (check CKP sensor and CMP sensor), sticking valves, misfire, Fuel line pressure, or an issue with CAT or muffler.Good luck.

Sounds like fuel problems. Turning your car in any direction has nothing to do with it. I assume your car is fuel in jected. Also that you have had the plugs , wires , cap and rotor replaced. If not do this. Then if you still have the problems the fuel presure has to be checked. That requires an inline gage be attached to check the presure while engine is running. If thats okay, then the fuel presure regulator might be sticking. Of course things like water in the fuel take and filters all need to be checked. Im sorry that its a big job. If you have to pay someone itll cost you money. If they just replace parts (guessing) thats no way to go about it. So plugs, wires, cap and rotor.replace. Then fuel delivery. I suggest you get the book for 15 bucks from autozone. Good luck

Recommend replace fuel rail pressure sensor, make sure connector and wiring are good, clear codes and recheck.

I need to change the PCV on my Ford Focus 2.3l ZX3 and cannot find it. Where is it located?

i don't think it has a pcv valve, if it does it will be in the valve cover. i think that year has a tube running from the valve cover to the throttle body and is controlled by a servo

There is a label under the hood that shows its location, otherwise just find the vacuum line going into the valve cover. Thanks

there is a recall for the fuel pump, but only applies to certain focuses according to the build date. if your car doesn't fall within the build date, it is a customer pay item... the car may very well need a fuel pump, i would say that is probably the best possibility. the other thing about recalls is they do expire, or if the car has already had the recall done you are not able to have the recall performed again. if it has the ztec engine i have seen valve cover gaskets blow out and soak the spark plugs with oil, this also causes the problem your having.hope this helps you and good luck---also what parts does the dealer think it is?

The "speed sensor" is throwing way too much fuel through the injectors and flooding the cylinders, new spark plugs would burn longer, but still die after a while, so that makes sense... but I think the problem might go a bit deeper into the engine management system than that. You say it does this at a specific temperature, so a loose connection somewhere is possible inside the EMS, something that breaks a sensor connection at that temperature, due to expansion and contraction of metal parts. Try looking for evidence of that.

Easiest way to find the PCV on a 2000 ZX3 (ZTEC engine)is to stand directly in front of the engine and look at the right side of the oil filler cap. From there, approx 10 inches directly below the the right side of the cap, you will see a black rubber hose/tube (3/4 inches)inserted into a rubber grommet--the PCV valve!! If you were to follow the hose/tube back through the emission components, you would find it connects to the lower rear of the throttle body.
