I have a 1990 v6 Toyota pickup that will crank and almost start if you hold the gas pedal to the floor. But it still will not start

i don't know. consider either no fuel or too much fuel.
friend's 1990 Suzuki was getting too much fuel. car has small brass temperature sensor in the air cleaner. mechanic said $88 for new one. i picked one up at auto recycler for $2.
you could test for NO FUEL by spraying some 'starter fluid'
into the throtle body/air intake and try turing it over, without
touchimg the gas pedal. best of luck.

When i start my 84 toyota truck 22r i notice white smoke coming out of the exhaust...

If your not overheating or losing coolant, its more than likely engine oil burning. If it is coolant related, possible blown head gasket.

1990 22r runs hot changed radator and all hoses , themastat, water pump works and does not leak. what can i do next

assuming fan is working, check for blown head gasket. Remove radiator cap, make sure it's full, start engine, allow to warm up. Once thermostat is open, check for bubbles coming up in the radiator. Combustion products coming into the radiator indicate blown head gasket. If this is not it or you have more questions, please get back to me.

1990 toyota celica fuel problem. It appears to be flooding. When cranking, if it has been sitting for a while, it fires for just a second, and then dies. When the fuel pump is unplugged, and engine...

start with trying to start the car with your foot hard on gas pedal, all the way to the floor this will stop fuel flow on start up its called clear flood mode. as the engine starts to fire and run ease off the pedal until it idles, it may take some time to run smoothly. if it doesnt run or stalls after a short time and then will not run i would try a ECU engine control unit as it supplies the earth circuit to the injectors, may be thats whats holding them open or they are dribbling badly and require overhauling

Even plugged in (block heater) tracker wont start at -30

Engine temp sensor could be faulty not letting enough fuel be commanded by the ECM .

Car shakes when trying to start and doesn't turn over

  1. hold gas pedal to floor while trying to start. do not pump pedal.
  2. holding pedal to floor is how you start a flooded f.i. engine
