Start your engine; run to operating temperature then: after the thermostat opens squeeze the upper radiator hose if you feel very little coolant flowing through the hose your water pump impeller has failed; If not, check and,or; replace your radiator reservoir cap

When you turn the heat on,is the blower putting out good wind speed.Do all the vents and defroster have good air flow.Does the A.C. blow with good air speed.

No heat changed therostat and blower motor works still no heat ?

if the cooling system is full and the car is at operating temperature then it sounds like you may have a blocked heater core.with car at operating temperature touch the heater hoses they should both be hot.if one hose is hot and the other is cold then the heater core is blocked and will need to be replaced.

It takes over 30 minutes to get heat and the temperture gauge goes just below hot and then returns to the middle line.

It sounds like the therostat is bad or the wrong temperature rating thermostat was installed.

I dont think you have an head gasket problem.Check that your therostat is working.Try running the engine without it.Or replace it.I would like to now a little moore about this problem,You dont give enough detail on it.

Cooling system/ focus 02

I have had to mess with my thermostat housing a lot because of the poor design of the thermostat housing that causes a leak... don't worry about it. keep the system sealed (caps on) and it will eventually purge itself... the coolant reservoir being at the highest point means that all air will work its way to it eventually. it will not harm your motor.
