2003 Ford Mustang GT Battery Light

Battery light came on. Had battery & alternator tested in and out of vehicle. Both fine. Had corrosion on the terminals. Cleaned them & replaced. Still have problem. When car is running, radio on, headlights on & a/c the battery drains & car dies.

What could be causing this if not the battery or alternator?

Your alternator should power everything when engine is running. Battery is only for start up. Test voltage with a multimeter when engine is running , should be 14V or more . Any less indicates low alternator output.

Take the car to an autoparts place that tests starter draw and cables. The meter they use can also measure current drain besides the starter. Turn on your lights and then measure the current flow. If the numbers are not ridiculous turn off the lights and turn on the A/C, blower on low. Gradually increase blower speed and note readings. Then have on lights and A/C blower on high, note readings. And if that does not pin point it, try the rear window defroster with everything else on. See what the readings are.

You have installed many parts, but missed the
entire process of repairing any vehicle

First you have to learn the system your about to work on,
by looking at wiring diagrams & also gather other info from
various sources,so you can have a point to start your testing

If all I do, is go by what you wrote here

I would say you never did any testing ,to even
find a problem

No mention of checking for codes

That is what you do, after you confirm the battery
is good, fully charged & holds a charge & test it

First, the battery replacement indicates you have a short. Either something draining the battery, or a bad alternator. This explains the light problem too. Get the alternator and battery tested at a auto-parts store. All the rest will fall in place.

2007 Ford mustang lights go on and off interior lights dash lights and car shuts off, opened hood smoke from battery seems to be overcharging is this battery or voltage regulator.

Could be several things. The battery or alternator can be tested at most of your local parts store. I would start with those probably battery first then alternator as batterys are less expensive and earier to install. What ever u decide to do i would make sure to get both checked to avoid burning up a new battery if it is the alternator as well as the battery.

Ford 2003 Expedition EB. Check Charging System

Its probably the alternator. It will need to be tested on the vehicle with the engine running and the light illuminated. Measure the battery voltage with the engine running. It should be at least 13.5 volts. If it is lower have the alternator tested at a shop with a charging system tester.

Why does the battery light keep coming on after

The battery light indicates insufficient voltage. I would recheck all the battery connections to be sure they are clean and tight. I would also have the alternator output tested, since the light will come on if the alternator is not providing sufficient voltage to keep the battery charged. Take the vehicle to an autoparts store and they will test the battery condition and alternator output for free. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped, Best wishes.

Battery light wont go off

somewhere you have a intermittent open, wish i had wiring diagrams in front of me, this alternator will tell you if it is not working right through the instrument cluster. need to find the wiring diagram and do an ohm test of the wire, if it is broken you will need to splice in a new piece.
