The fan/clutch assy has left hand thread. Loosen by turning clockwise.
Remove radiator top shroud & air cleaner assy. to gain access.
Remove engine cooling fan by holding the belt drive pulley with a suitable flat bar tool (that fits over the top of the drive pulley attachment bolts), then using a suitable flat spanner to unscrew the fan clutch assy (clockwise). When re-fitting, tighten clutch nut to 30 ftlb.
You may need to use a bit of ingenuity in making the flat bar holding tool, unless you are able to procure the BMW tool #11.5.030.
Good luck

when I put my jeep into 4WD it sounds like the chains are skipping on the transfer case gears. It is easy to engage from 2WD to 4WD. My jeep is a 2004 Rubicon.

hi i just been helping getting a old 1989 BMW back on the road i just about got it to start but there is a water leak i see and some of the water gets in throw the center control panel via the air ducts even into the back also a bit at the back of the engine by the look of it by there is lots coming from inside. if it is the heater is there a way to get round it as i don't need one as I'm used to driving cold cars it is missing as it slows down ans stalls on tick over but i have not looked at that as i now it could be lots of things but common problems with this year when they been sitting for 6 months would help too thanks would be grate help
