My car is making whinning high pitch sounds when im driving then it will stop and eventually come back, is it the power stearing pump or the power stearing hose leaking

You most likely have a leak. You shouldn't ever have to add power steering fluid. It is best to get it checked out and repaired while the leak is small. If you wait, the leak will get worse and the oil gets dumped on hoses, belts, wiring harnesses, computer sensors, etc. and can cause severe damage to all of these items, as well as rubber engine mounts and suspension parts. To properly maintain your vehicle, NO fluid leak should EVER be "tolerated". Fluid leaks (of all types) are the leading cause of sending cars to the scrap yard way before their time.

So I picked up a 2006 mini last year and I noticed in the last couple of months that the overflow tank goes empty every couple of days. I hadn't noticed anything on the ground until I had my oil...

Start on a day you're not using the car. park it in a spot where any fluid leaks will be imeadiately obvious and if you see a fluid leak jack the vehicle on the spot and get under it and start looking for wet spots. It could be something as simple as a bad or loose hose clamp.

Mypower stering quit working. I checked he fluid

Is there a major leak somewhere? It will make noise if low or when the oil is aerated. Look for the leak.

My 2001 astro lost it's brakes and power steering at the same time. any ideas?

check the power steering pump to see if the shaft broke. remove the belt and pull the pulley on the pump, it should not pull out of the pump. If it does you need a new pump

Brake lite on console comes on/off. fluid levels look good. brakes get spongy go to floor, but pump them up and they work and light goes off.

It's either fluid in the master cylinder leaking by the piston, or it's wheel cylinders/calipers leaking. You should take it to a shop, pronto!!

Poer steering fluid is leaking. Fan runs slow

Check power steering rack. on the camarys its alittle more common than most cars. poke a hole in the boot and watch for a leak. Nothggn should come out of there. If you have fluid coming from the boots then your internal seals are leaking on the rack. a small hole will not hurt the rack if nothing comes out.

Also check your power steering pump shaft. sometimes the seal will leak
.
I think your over heating problem may be a different problem all together.

Hopefull that helps.

Leaking power stering

The steering sounds weird because the Power steering pump is starting to mix air into the fluid , it might make more noise turning than going straight. the places it most likely is leaking is the high pressure hose to the steering rack assembly , next would be the pump assembly , and the steering rack from there. the return line is more likely to have a seeping leak if any.

Hope this helps
