Dead battery but fuse box makes a ''clicking'' noise

I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution MR and for the past few months I have had trouble starting it.... At first I thought it was the battery, alternator, or the starter... But last night, the battery finally died altogether. When I popped the hood, I heard a clicking noise coming from the fuse box. I had my keys out of the ignition and have no idea what is going on.. The fuses appear ok, maybe it's a relay? HELP!!!

Did you have the battery light on when the car was running
try a new battery see if that solves it if not then it is the alternator

2001 Nissan Frontier makes clicking noise when trying to start

It's very possible that a wire connection came loose and makes connection when you jiggle the fuse box. Be careful when working with the box as wires may come disconnected then you'll be in big trouble not knowing what goes where. Hope this helps.

I hope this helps. I had a problem on a couple of different Mitsubishi's where the battery went dead and all the major components were good. No warning lights came on. Check the fuse block . Not the standard fuses but the specialty fuses, the block fuses. Look at them carefully with a flashlight.Test them with voltage meter if necessary. Make sure that one is not blown. With any luck a dollar fuse will turn everything back on.

It could be the solenoid on the starter that is clicking and needs replacing.

My question is--- Why is this still an issue a few months later?
--- You need to start diagnosing these problems when they first happen,so you resolve them and have reliable transportation again.

Was the Battery Tested in any way or you just replaced it in a wish and hope type approach?

There is a large rectangle item in my 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse fuse box that is ticking. I have lost all power to the vehicle. What is the rectangle object. It has a the number MR 515944 imprinted on it.

I had this same thing occur with my eclipse with a battery that had been dead for a long period of time, so long that the security system was going off. The "fuse box" you're talking about is actually the relay box. Inside of it are a couple relays that are important: The "theft-alarm horn relay" and the "headlight relays". Most likely one of these are the source of the clicking. The good news is that if you hook up a new good battery, the anti-theft device will deactivate after a set period of time and the clicking should stop.

The car was making a clicking noise near the fuse box. I removed a fuse that stoopped the clicking. the car has power but will not start. when i turn the key its as if the battery is dead, but its not

I think I already addressed this, but if not there are relays inside the fuse box that click when they engage, this is a normal noise in a relay. They are usually much bigger than your standard fuse.

2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse starts sometimes then wont and just makes a clicking sound, is my starter going out?

could be, unless your battery is dying. a nearly dead battery will make clicking noises while it is cranking. if you keep forcing it by turning the key from "run" to "crank" and it gets it to start it may be a dead spot on the starter.

Battery is dead... get a volt meter, jump the car and with the car running on its own power check the voltage, anything less than 12v could point to an alternator but a new battery is a better place to start. put it to you this way if the car shuts off while driving, then its your alt, and if its fine wen drivin but wont start back up... its all battery

2003 Galant Clicking noise when trying to start.

It is your battery it may not be completly dead but it is too dead to run the starter. It take 300 -600 amp to run a starter and 20 amp to run a stereo
