Most Chrysler's w pump THREADS TO FAN ARE LEFT HANDED. You will need a LARGE wrench/pipe wrench with "helper pipe" added on and block fan & pulleys from turning by wedge or large square shaft screwdriver placed between block and pulley. Good luck!

Water pump is driven by the timing belt. You need to take everything off of the front of the motor. Make sure you use a new timing belt.

Show me a picture of the water pump on a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus LXI

The pump is part of the timing components. You only want to do this one time. So replace all the timing components. You don't have to replace the crank or cam gears.

How do you change a fuel pump on a 1989 chrysler cirrus

I couldn't find a 1989 Chrysler Cirrus, but is it a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus?

If so:

Cirrus, Stratus, Sebring Convertible and Breeze The fuel pump is serviced as part of the fuel pump module. The fuel pump module is installed in the top of the fuel tank and contains the electric fuel pump, fuel pump reservoir, inlet strainer fuel gauge sending unit, fuel supply and return line connections and the pressure regulator. The inlet strainer, fuel pressure regulator and level sensor are the only serviceable items. If the fuel pump requires service, replace the fuel pump module. CAUTION
Fuel injection systems remain under pressure, even after the engine has been turned OFF. The fuel system pressure MUST be relieved before disconnecting any fuel lines. Failure to do so may result in fire and/or personal injury.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the left strut tower. The ground cable is equipped with an insulator grommet which should be placed on the stud to prevent the negative battery cable from accidentally grounding.
  2. Remove the fuel filler cap and relieve the fuel system pressure, as outlined earlier in this procedure.
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4. Drain and remove the fuel tank, as outlined under the Tank Assembly removal and installation procedure, later in this section. CAUTION
Observe all applicable safety precautions when working around fuel. Do not allow fuel spray or fuel vapors to come in contact with a spark or open flame. Keep a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher near the work area. Never drain or store fuel in an open container due to the possibility of fire or explosion.
  5. Clean the top of the tank to remove any loose dirt.
  6. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump module by depressing the quick-connect retainers with your thumb and forefinger. Fig. 3: Removal of the fuel pump module lock ring using the special tool 90905g23.gif

  7. Using special tool 6856 (Fuel Pump Module Ring Spanner) or equivalent, remove the fuel pump lock ring. WARNING
The fuel reservoir of the fuel pump module does not empty out when the tank is drained. The fuel in the reservoir may spill out when the module is removed. Fig. 4: Carefully remove the fuel pump module from the fuel tank 90905g24.gif

  8. Remove the fuel pump and O-ring seal from the tank. Discard the old O-ring seal. To install:
  9. Thoroughly clean all parts. Wipe the seal area of the tank clean. Place a new O-ring on the ledge between the tank threads and the pump module opening.
  10. Position the fuel pump module in the tank. Make sure the alignment tab on the underside of the pump module flange sits in the corresponding notch in the fuel tank.
  11. While holding the fuel pump module in place, install the locking ring and tighten to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm), using special tool 6856 or an equivalent spanner-type tool. WARNING
Do not overtighten the pump lock ring, as this may cause a fuel leak.
  12. Install a new fuel filter.
  13. Raise and install the fuel tank assembly, as described later in this section.
  14. Carefully lower the vehicle.
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16. Refill the fuel tank with clean fuel. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position to pressurize the system. Check the fuel system for leaks.

How to change tye-rods on 2000 cirrus

There are two tie rod ends on each side, an inner and an outer. Each one
requires a special tool to remove. When the new parts are installed, the vehicle must be aligned, which again requires special knowledge and tools. Unless you own an alignment rack, a lift, and all the special tools, you are not going to be able to do this yourself.

Cooling system must be blead of air before thermostat will work. Cool bottom rad hose is a dead give away. If you are still watching this forum reply , and I will walk you through the only way I know how to make it work properly. It's actually easy if you do it my way. I have worked on lots of cars , and this engine was the hardest to bleed out. Did one Yesterday , and works perfect.

To remove a powersteering pump. From 1997 Chrysler Cirrus.

One of the first things you have to do is remove the pulley, this requires a special puller/installer tool. DO NOT TRY TO PULL ,PUSH OR PRY on the pulley you will ruin the pump. Some auto part stores will rent those tools otherwise you'll have to buy the tool (less than $100). The job is almost impossible with the tool.
