Question about 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis
Got to work and couldn't turn the car off. The key would turn all the way back but didn't seem like it caught anything to turn off the car. I can start the car but I had to remove the battery cable to stop the car. When i reconnect the battery, all the terminal lights stay on as if I'm starting up the car. Needin some help.
Seems your ignition swith has come disconected from the key switch. The actual swith is not the key. The key links to a switch on top of the steering column down around the pedals. Or the switch itself is broken free. The switch is replaceable although a pain to access. No need to pull out the steering column. Good luck.
