I have a 98 Montero Sport and to adjust the idle all I needed was a phillips screw driver. Check owners manuel for Idle speed and remember to have lights off when adjusting. Also it showed the idle range posted on the hood underneath.

97 pajero rough starting, loosing power when warm, car will idle low revs, stalls if power applied.crawled home at 20kms an hour

It is very possible your fuel filter is clogged or catalyst is clogged. Might be a good idea to have a respectable mechanic diagnose the issue.

Mitsubishi Pajero 1992 2.5 TD 1992 2.5 TD, A/T_tem light on

The AT Temp light refers to the temperature of the automatic transmission fluid. If worked very hard the tranny will heat up quite a bit and the switch will close telling you the tranny is getting too hot. If this happpens, park your Pajero and keep the engine running and allow the engine to idle, this will help cool the fluid and the light will rurn off. Given the year of your Pajero, a tranny filter / fluid replacement would be a good thing. I have a 1990 Montero (here in the US) and the over heat switch on my tranny failed so light was always on, had to replace the switch. I believe the switch can be found in a tranny coolant line.

Please let me know if this assisted you.

Thank you,
Tom
