Question about 2000 Volvo S40
My 2000 Volvo S40, Turbo (I have no manual) has a light that blinks once in awhile, upside down arrow. This is the same arrow that lights solid when winter driving. Can't seem to find a common reason for when it happens, but seems to be happening more frequently. Also, it tends to not want to accelerate during this & corrects itself after a day or so of not driving. Today, however, the engine seemed to jump when putting it into gear THEN the light flashed & I thought I may not make it home.
This is a common problem of Volvo S40. You can try this trick to turn off the flashing arrow light.
1) Turn off Engine
2) Turn key to "On" position (Not start the engine), you will see the panel light will on
3) Step on the break paddle
4) Shift the gear from "P" to "L" 10 times
5) Turn key to " Off" position
6) Now you can start the engine.
7) If doesn't work, you can repeat the procedure.
Hope this tick help
