Interment A/C clutch operation

2001 VW Beetle Interment A/C clutch operation. Sometimes the A/C works fine so I know the compress clutch works. Then for now reason the A/C stops working and I find that the compressor clutch is not engaged. What ever activates the electrical circuit to energize the clutch stops working until it decides to work again. It has Freon in it and unless it is the pressure sensor on the A/C system I am at a lose.

Thats what it soulds like to me. The low pressure switch is what controls the clutch. Check to ensure you are topped off with refrigerant. If it is, get the low pressure switch replaced.

Hello mate got problem got vw beetle new shape 2001 had to pull over last night because clutch went soft and wouldnt go into 2 gear but all other gears are fine ,have noticed when pulling off in first it...

it is likely your hydraulic slave cylinder is leaking and the system now has sucked air in the lines from an empty reservoir. First check the clutch reservoir. If empty, check the slave cylinder at the transmission for a leak. If leaking, replace slave and bleed the system. Let me know if you have questions.

My question is.My dodge`s dashboard sometimes doesnt work and bort computer. So is it a problem with fuses or something else? thank you

This is a common problem with the voyager, caravans and Town & Countrys. What the problem is is a cold soder in the interment cluster itself. The problem area is where the plug comes from the van into the cluster. You need to take the circuit board out of the cluster and reheat the soder on the back side of the circuit board were the plug plugs into. This will fix the cold soder permanitly I think its about 16 pins you have to reheat with the soder gun. If you don't feel comfrotable doing that you can just replace the interment cluster and it will be fine but if you buy a used one make sure it was tested. Good luck

How to Check fan control module 2001 vw beetle? Power is getting to both 30A inputs but no output. In addition to both fans not working a/c clutch will not engage.

Sounds like your fan speed switch. I had the same problem. The fan speed switch is the main power switch to your AC. VW only sells the whole cluster wholesale around 150.00. Let me know if you need instruction on removing cluster.

Interm A/C compresser clutch.

Check the relay in the fuse panel under the hood.
I have had these get moisture in them before and they would do what you describe.
