This code is send (in your case NOT SEND)
by the fuel sending unit.

Does your fuel gauge give incorrect of jumpy reading when it's full?

The quick fix is STOP TOPPING OFF the fuel tank when you are get gas.

Keep topping off will push the fuel tank float off it's sensor limit and eventually short or send OUT OF RANGE reading to the fuel gauge.

Fill your truck up to 3/4 tank full.

Drive it for 2-3 days or about 100 miles.
(this will fill the ready-ness data that DMV want)

If there is NO check engine light ON during the 2-3 days then give the smog test another shot.

DO NOT add fuel unit you complete the smog test.
===

The CORRECT method to fix your problem is to drop the gas tank and replace the fuel sending unit.

If you truck has over 140,000 miles on it then I will recommend you the change the WHOLE integrated fuel pump/fuel sending unit and fuel filter at the same time.

p1627: [driver "1" input high voltage]...

I believe the PCM was expecting a signal from a sensor (which one I don't know) that should be low voltage and instead was high voltage and therefore triggered a DTC for that sensor...I will guess a bad O2 sensor...

code may also be cleared by disconnecting battery negative wire for 30 seconds...remember to reset your clock and radio settings...

sorry that is all I can find...please rate me solved

Transmission shift hard in 2'nd to 3'rd gear on a automanic transmission on a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo

Hello
The Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type.

The check engine light on my 2000 isuzu rodeo will not turn off. I need to take a test only smog test.

You need to have an OBII scan performed. (fault scan) The light is indicating a sensor has triggered identifying a fault/problem. Fix the fault - light goes out. How long has your check engine light been on?

I have code P0401 on a 2001 I SU RODEO V6

You've probably fixed this by now. I had the same problem and it wouldn't pass the smog check. I thought I'd have to replace the EGR valve but now know that would have not solved the problem.
The solution was to remove the EGR valve, plug the rear hole and use some carb cleaner down the other hole. I'd get two cans. I sprayed a bunch of liquid in the hole but it just filled up. Had my wife come out and rev the engine for a bit. Finally, the liquid got sucked into the port and I sprayed an entire can in while she kept the engine RPM up. Bolted the EGR valve back on, took it to the Smog check place and it passed with flying colors.

If P1627 is set when there is a problem with the fuel level sending unit, 100% sure on this problem, replace the fuel level sender in the gas tank, about 2.5 hours, very straight forward job

Failed Smog Test - 4 codes for 2001 Isuzu Rodeo

Tune it up and replace the 02 sensor that keeps setting the codes bank 2 sensor 1. Have your oil and filter changed right before you go for a retest to. That will clear up 3 codes P0300, 0155 and 0154. You might have to replace the fuel sending unit to get rid of P0463 but if the gauge works OK I'd leave it alone.
