2003 focus electrical issue- not charging properly

You ether have a bad batter that won't hold a charge or you have something staying on. or your alternator isn't fully charging your battery.

The battery is not charged up...could be the alternator...after starting, your car runs off of the alternator. Fully charge the battery, and you may be able to drive a short distance to your auto store for testing the alternator...limit lights etc as your car will be running until the battery goes down again...and will happen while driving. Hope this helps.

Im no expert but my kids older car had several alternators replaced. 2nd one was bad.. We got one new and one rebuilt. I think the rebuilt worked a week and car died again.

Checking the battery terminals are tight a grease free is an easy test.
The alternator needs checking to make sure it is charging the battery when the car is in use otherwise the battery will just deplete. :)

In order for the alternater to charge there has to be some current in the battery; it may needan external charge boost to do the testing. Since replacements have already been made there must be an internal current drain on the battery Since the radio will not shut off this would be the most likely component to start checking. Suggest you locate and remove the appropriate fuse and see if the battery discharges after it has beencharged -up If this solves the problem then obviously the radio needs to be replaced. A test light inserted between the negative post of the battery and the negative battery cable will indicate battery drain but some is normal due to to computer keep-a- live and security systems.

Disconnect battery ground for 30 seconds & reconnect. Light should be out unless you have deeper diagnostic problem. Charging system good Battery good. This action should reset trouble light. Good luck!

This is often mistaken as an alternator or battery problem. If you also are having a problem with the engine idling a bit low (less than 600rpm) when stopped and in Drive without the a/c on, it is likely a throttle body sensor issue. Because the sensor is bad, the engine idles lower than it should and will cause the 'battery light' to come on and go off seemingly randomly.

SOUNDS LIKE AN ALTERNATOR PROBLEM THE SYSTEM IS NOT RECHARGING ITS SELF AS IT SHOULD AND THEREFORE IT IS DRAINING THE LIFE OUT OF YOUR BATTERY AND WILL EVENTUALLY KILL THE NEW BATTERY TOO.

yes the alternator has failed or the wiring to it, this caused a low voltage condition that caused the engine to stop once it went below about 10 volts.
