Question about 2004 Buick LeSabre

2004 Buick Regal. Hard tranny shifts.

2004 Buick Regal- Hard transmission shifts When accelerating the tranny shifts hard at 10 mph and then again at about 20mph. Also when accelerating, the tranny seems to spin without getting a grip. then it shifts and goes. It's like you're trying to run but your feet are slipping. there is no high pitched whine.

Hi: re a 2000 lesabre w 86,000 have an auto tranny shifting problem. It's not too bad, but noticing knocks/hard shifts when slowly accelerating from a stop (underload up a grade mostly). Can also be at the...

Sounds like the vacuum modulator on the side of the transmission or the vacuum hose going to the unit. I'm not sure if buick Is fed off of the carburetor vacuum or there's a vacuum tree on the rear of the engine block that may feed it as well. Typically if there is a vacuum leak to the modulator, your engine power will be decreased and your engine will be running rough.

Car accelerates very slowly at stops if you push too hard on the accelerator it does nothing if you go very slowly it eventually will pick up speed

You have tranny problem. Your tranny doesn't shift higher gear when the car stop, so have the machanic check it out.

Transmission Clunking Sound

If not the transmission, check the engine cradle isolators - the engine/transmission cradle could be moving laterally under heavy load causing something to bang on the frame. If the knocking is repetitive, this can also occur with worn out drive axles.

2003 BUICK REGAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM.

This is a common problem on some GM cars. There is a pressure control valve in the side cover of the transmission that needs to be replaced. The transmission does not have to be rebuilt. You will need to get a side cover gasket also.

Transmission sometimes shifts hard into next gear.

I would check the transmission and engine mounts but also it may be time for a transmission fluid change. It has a service interval just like oil. 50000 miles
