One thing you can do is while it's in no-start, see if you can hear the fuel pump, also check for spark...then you can begin to get an idea what's not working. At this point, shaking the wires may have been nothing...possibly it would have started even if you had not done that. So, at this point in your diagnosis, it's worthwhile to remember, but not solid enough to pursue. Once you have some direction, there are individual component tests that can be made on many individual components, using a good digital volt/ohmeter, regardless of if codes are present. But, unplugging components may set codes for those items if you run it while unplugged, so be careful in what you do. My thinking right now is that you may have a balky fuel pump but don't run out and buy one because I said that...test everything carefully before spending anything on parts except for possibly a fuel filter. (which is often neglected and unless recently replaced should be done regardless of problems)
