Question about 2000 Jaguar S-Type
What grade of gas does a 4.0 s-type 2000 jaguar use
As per the Jag manual, minimum octane to put in is 91. You may get away with putting in 89 and then every 3 or 4th time, put in 91 (or higher).

Jaguar recommends the highest grade of gas for the best overall performance. usually this is between 91 and 95 octane, however many of our Jaguar customers just put the mid- or low grade fuel in the car. Now you can do this but the performance and in most cases the gas mileage wont be as good as the premium gas.
The way I see it is if jaguar did all that testing and engineering for that car and they came to the conclusion that it works best with high octane then i would do it. But hey, its your choice, i hope i helped you out.
