Engine comes on and goes off fault reading fuel injection feedback

Automatic transmissions, have brake and clutch bands, these gradually wear. The residue of this wear is picked up by the filter. from time to time, it will require servicing, to clean the filter and adjust the brake and clutch bands and change the fluid at the same time.
I had the torque converter drilled, drain, welded, to get all the fluid out and replaced with synthetic fluid, which handles much higher temperature, and according to a transmission specialist, will last the life of the vehicle. When fluid has changed from red to brown , it is no longer performing to its specification, and will eventually cause unnecessary wear to the transmission. I would suggest to get the transmission serviced by a transmission specialist, rather than a general mechanic, if possible. I have seen owners told a transmission had to be replaced for $1800 (at the brand authorised service agent), when the specialist new it was a common fault for that model and would cost about $70 to fix.

Possibly the "Mass airflow sensor". I had a similar problem, basically the car behaved like it didn't have a turbo and was really slow. Unfortunately the Mass airflow sensor is expensive, about AU$800. Only failed once several years ago. Hope this helps.
