Subaru 2001 Legacy Outback Changer plug lead

I need to get to the back of the Kenwood/Subaru badged unit to plug in a changer lead/ Ipod conversion, how do I get the head unit out? or is it easier to get at it from the footwells by removing some trim?

Hello, I will share a little tech tip with you... These instructions tell you to disconnect the HVAC (Heating,Ventalation,Air Conditioning) cables, they are a pain. All I do is, when you get to the point where you WOULD disconnect them, just take out the screws on either side of the HVAC control head and just bend the brackets out enough to remove the stereo, and when your going back together with it, just put one of the screws in one of the holes for the HVAC control head and put the screw driver on the screw and push the bracket with the screw driver to line up the holes and screw it in. Do the same with the other side and it's good as new. You really don't have to bend them out hardly at all. I hope this info helps...

Can you switch a rear diff from a 1997 subaru legacy wagen with a 2.2l inter changeable with a 1997 subaru legacy outback with a 2.5l ?

the biggest draw back that you will have to check first is the ratio of the diffs you want to change. If they are not the same but will fit then you will destroy the 3rd diff in the transmission from excessive use.

How do you replace the spark plug wires on 1997 Subaru outback/legacy?

Access from top is better but you must remove battery/washer reservoir driver's side and intake piping on passenger's side to get to the plugs. If you have bad back, access from underneath is fine but I'd have a ramp instead of jack for safety reasons.

Stuck Cd in 2003 Subaru Legacy Outback

pull out the fuse for your radio and turn the ignition to the on position and wait 10 secs. Then turn off the ignition, replace the fuse and turn to the on again. It may work as I've done this to other cars which have had cd's stuck
