Kia Cerato 2007 ignition on depress clutch it starts. Clutch fully pressed to floor strange noise let it off approx inch from floor no noise just bought car cheap

I don't know. on most key start cars, when you twist
the ignition key, the engine starts. if you twist the key
again the starter may try to engage again and you will
hear a strange noise. you may have a similar situation
with your clutch start. push to floor to start. release
immediately and don't push it to the floor again.

Well, it sounds like the clutch cylinder / clutch linkage is not properly adjusted or the clutch cylinder is not fully bled, or it is malfunctioning -- it's not fully depressing the pressure plate when the pedal is pushed down, therefore, the clutch is still engaged.

My 87 Mazda B2000 has been parked down hill for 3 months. Now the motor starts but I cannot put it in any gear with the motor on. The stick shift will move into gears with the engine off.

sounds like the clutch has corroded somewhat.
does it feel like the clutch has some pressure?
try putting it in gear, depress the clutch, and then see if it will start in gear( be carefull it may jump forward)
this might free the clutch.
also the clutch fluid may have drained or have an air bubble, depressing the clutch many times quickly may self bleed the air out, or bleed some new fluid through it. make sure to top up the fluid.

Gear shifting

Adust clutch cable.Test...start the car in first gear with clutch fully depressed, parking break off. Slowly release the clutch. determine when the vehicle starts to move. If clutch is fully depressed call that 100%, fully released is 0%. The vehicle should be moving at around the 55-45% range.

Switch is pretty much just a push button. You can easily check it by looking at it and making sure it's fully out with the clutch depressed (may be out of adjustment) Or, you can jump across the switch terminals and in neutral, with brake engaged and clutch pressed to the floor, see if the starter engages when you turn the key. (never do this with anyone standing in front of or behind the car, or in a place where you will run into anything if it happens to be in gear. If it starts with switch bypassed, the switch is defective. Otherwise, check the wiring going to and from the switch.

Will not start showing gear box probem showing

It possibly could be the nuetral safety switch. somewhere along the drive train there is a switch that detects if the car is gear (automatic trans) or if the clutch is depressed (manual). the switch if on a manual trans would be along the clutch pedal towards the top of the lever above the fulcrom. when depressed (off) the clutch is not depressed when fully extended (on) it is allows the starter to turn over the car.

if you can find the switch you can short the wires and it will think it is ok toi start car (even while in gear so be carefull).
