Sometimes as I am driving at speeds of 60 or above my car feels wobbly. Had Les Schwab check tires and alignment. Is there anything engine related that could cause that feeling? Also sometimes my throttle cable (?) gets stuck so my car will be at a stop but the engine is still accelerating and lately it's sounds kind of like it puttering when stopped, almost like it wants to die. Also it kinda jerks when shifting (automatic). Serviced transmission Sept or Oct of '08. Fluids checked, oil change 3000 miles ago. 127k miles 98 Ford Escort

I would be checking your driveline good!!u joints for play...as well as steady bearing.also check your ball joints.jack steer axle and try to move tire back anf forth verticaly.one hand on top of tire and one on bottem and kinda push with top hand and pull with bottem.if u feel a clunk theres a good chance ball joints need to be replaced!

Normally your engine should not cause your car to wobble, however a misfire can cause this to happen, as far as your throttle cable, you need to replace it and check the transmission kick down cable (co located with throttle cable) replace if necessary. The jerking when shifting is probably due to incorrectly adjusted kick down cable, when adjusted correctly the transmission with shift smooth. Hope this helps, let me know

What is the drive cycle for a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE?

Take extra caution while performing dirve cycles on public roadways. Drive cycles can be difficult to follow under normal driving conditions. Begin by: - Start the engine. Idle the engine in drive for two and a half minutes with the A/C and rear defroster on. - Turn the A/C and rear defrost off, and accelerate to 55 mph at half throttle. - Hold at a steady speed of 55 mph for three minutes. - Decelerate (coast down) to 20 mph without braking or depressing the clutch. - Accelerate back to 55 to 60 mph at ¾ throttle. - Hold at a steady speed of 55 to 60 mph for five minutes. - Decelerate (coast down) to a stop without braking. If all other emissions systems are functioning properly, completing the drive cycle above will set the "readiness flags" required to pass the smog check. It will not hurt to perform the drive cycle 2 or 3 times before the smog test.

Can an automatic trans cause a wobble under acceleration. Mount is good. No movement in steering wheel

I suppose it is possible - almost anything is possible with motor cars. Like the old saying goes; anything with tyres or testes is going to cause trouble sooner or later, however, I have never known the symptom you describe to be caused by a transmission.

I have known an unfortunate choice of tyres to cause some strange sensations. Some of the early Michelin tyres used to wobble a lot under acceleration. I have known some older tyres to sometimes feel like the wheels are walking along the road rather than rotating but that was at a fairly low speed and neutral throttle opening.

Worn driveline components are by far the most common causes of a less than smooth power delivery with worn inner drive shaft joints the top of my list for strange or unusual wobble sensations.

It is wise to go back to basics and do some serious checking before spending any money...

How to adjust governer to increase speed on 2002 Jacobsen 1110 hauler?

If this is a diesel engine then adjusting governor to get more speed will destruct the engine. If the vehicle is slow then when the engine is off have someone apply full throttle and see if you can still move the accelerator lever on the pump. If you can either adjust the lever to full throttle stop position or get a new accelerator cable.

You can't make any adjustments, the idle speed is controlled automatically by a computer called the ECM.

Wobble when accelerating

U NEED TO HAVE THE CV JOINTS CHECKED FOR EXCESSIVE WEAR, ALSO ROTATE THE TIRES AND SEE IF THAT HELPS, A SEPERATED TIRE CORD CAN CAUSE THIS WALLOW.

Take off the throttle body (very easy to do) and use carb cleaner to clean off the gunk. You have to clean both sides of the butterfly.

2001 V Tech engine runs full throttle in neutral or in gear

Look under the hood. Look for the throttle body .The accelerator cable is attached to it. The cable housing anchor is broken and not letting it return to idle speed.. Use a portion of a clothes hanger to
secure the cable housing to the throttle body.
