Check the tires air pressure. It happened to me 01lincoln town car, .had 60 psi in the front and 35 psi in the rear. This effectively gives you twould different tire sizes front and rear, the problem is that the speed sensors are reading two different mph from front and rear tires and causes the computer to go into limp mode. The Solution is to check the air pressure in the tires and make sure that all 4 tires have the same psi. Sometimes it's just that simple

Sound like a clogged fuel filter this will keep you from going over a certain speed as the flow of gas is not correct

My pt cruiser has code 1391. i changed cam sensor crank sensor wires plugs and coil still getting 1391 code and from 0 mph to 20 mph car skips and revs up any ideas?

The cam and crank sensors have the same power wire. Go after that one. They also have the same ground, but other sensors connect to it also. So it's not the ground. And they have separate return signal wires. Not them either.

Changed coil packs and still misses

With the car running take a can of starting fluid and spray around the intake. those cars are known for bad intake gasket leaks. if the engine idles up on its own when you spray it. you have a bad intake. make sure to check and spray vac lines as well.

Wont start has new fuel pump and starter turns over fine going down the road and it spudders like it ran out of gas it just turns over not even trying to start

my 1988 towncar used to stop running on the open road at 70 mph after 20-25 miles of driving.......after sitting on the side for a 1/2 hr it was start right back up like nothing happened. After 2 frustrating weeks and 3 different mechanics I found out through another towncar owner that the ignition coil is getting hot and is causing the engine to shut off...Lo and behold 28.00 and 20 mins solved the problem. Just invest in a good Ignition coil from NAPA or SUMMIT PARTS

How di I change the spark plugs on my 2002 lincoln town car 4.6

Remove the coils one at a time. The plugs are under them. The coils are tucked under the fuel rail, but you don't have to remove the rail. The coils will come out, just unplug them and remove the 7mm bolt that holds it down.
