The fuel filter was replaced today as well as the cat, tune up is done also. I have not checked the fuel pressure as of yet, anyone know where that number should be? (PSI)

you can have the fuel rail tested from autozone if the pressure isnt enough then try the fuel filter (cheap) then the fuel the way what are the codes indicating.

So you gave it a tune-up?

possible causes of of loss of power:BAD SPARK PLUGS AND OR WIRES AND OR DISTRIBUTOR CAP.

maybe the engine is worn......old engines tend to loose pressure and they start eating the oil, and also start smoking real bad.

this one is another casue of power loss too.

While driving veh lost power, as if not getting fuel. RPM would not go up to 2000. Could only go 10-15 mph. Did not stall. that could not be diagnosed.

the voltage to electronics is critical and any loss of generated power from the alternator will result in under voltage to the ECM
that in turn throws out the set parameters of the sensors and so the ECM goes into reduced power mode
the surging could be an intermittent fault in with the alternator , failing cells in battery or loose or failing drive belt
before you spend money on new alternator and battery, you can have the battery load tested and the alternator bench tested as the fix can be reasonably simple

Need to be more specific here. Runs misfiring? or vibrating excessively at about 1500, and again about 3000 rpm? If it's the latter, chances are your engine's balance shaft is not timed correctly. This causes a heavy high-frequency vibration/buzz throughout the car, at the aforementioned rpm ranges. If it's more like a misfire/stumble, look into your ignition system, or possibly a sticking EGR valve. (This will cause a mild surge/bucking under light accel, peaking between 45-50mph. Good luck!

Chevy Aveo surging

I had a corolla that did this to me, turned out to be an injector. Definitely worth looking towards that.

I have 2002 audit quattro TT with 180k miles. When I do a normal acceleration the car surges and rpm drop but pick back up. If I accel hard it runs fine. Also at idle at times it varies 200 rpm like a

this sounds similar to a problem i had. as the rpm went over 2000 the engine would stop for a split second and then kick back in.
after a few days looking my garage finally found the problem was a faulty air mass meter.
this cost me £200 in total to be repaired.

Cummins Diesel losses accelerator mostly when weather is cold

this is referred to as a drive by wire system. meaning you have no accel cable. it uses a sensor on the gas pedal and on the pump. probably the pedal sensor going bad need to check the code and go from there
