Question about 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Interior lights on climate clontrol knobs don't work

2005 grand cherokee that has no lights behind the knobs for heat control, fan speed, or direction. Can anyone help? I have 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (not Limited) with MANUAL Climate Control (3 knobs - fan speed, temp, airflow direction). Recently all of the lights behind the center console quit working, also all but 1 of the lights behind the "Information Center" buttons (about 2" above and on the left side of the center console) quit working also. It sounds like there is a known issue with the lighting of these components, at least the climate control part. It is out of warrenty (42,000 miles and 4 years in-service). Several questions: 1) Has anyone had a dealer fix it as a recall? 2) Are the climate control lights and Info center light issues related or coincidental? 3)Is it something I can do myself? 4)Is it best to replace the entire climate control unit or can new bulbs be soldered on?

Fan control knob on a/c and heater will only run on high speed. 2003 dodge mini van

I replaced the fan module under the glovebox on my 2005 Town & Country last night. Mine would not shut off at all with key on. It only blew on high no matter where I set the switch. Mine also had the climate control which makes a difference. If it is not the auto climate control it is usually the blower resistor if the other fan speed selections don't blow at all except on high.

No light behind the heating and air conditioning controls

is it a manual or auto climate system ?? I don"t remember the auto deal but..... if manual- set the fan speed to #2 position and pull the knob straight off. It might put up a fight and you might have to use both hands... no joke. When the knob is off you'll see the little bugger, it might have simply fell outta the socket

Dual climate problem for 2005 cherokee limited

a common problem ( mine did it too ) is the blower control relay, under the glove box and behind. it requires taking out the glove box, buying a relay and installing it. unfortunately, the relay often cooks the incoming wire harness, requiring cutting those wires and putting cut wires into new harness. check with www.wjjeeps.com for details.

2001 Jetta Interior Climate Control Bulb

There is one bulb (for all three knobs) behind the center knob. Turn the knob to the straight up and down 12 o'clock position and pull the knob straight out. Wrap a soft cloth around the jaws of a pliers, that works the best. Pull the bulb out with a needle nose wrapped with a rubber band. The bulb is a sylvania 2721, available at most auto parts stores. You can also use a small piece of vacuum tubing to pull the bulb out. (pull straight out, don't twist it)

Interior lights on climate clontrol knobs don't work

After showing the dealership this site and the problems that others have had. I insisted that they take a look at it and solve the problem. FINALLY, they admitted that there are lights and that basically it is a pain to fix because they need to order a new module. After one day in the shop, I now have lights for the climate controls in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Do not let them tell you that it only is an option with the Limited. It is just flat out FALSE. I was so frustrated with my dealership because this is shady if you ask me, but they did fix it free of charge. Do your research, call JEEP themselves, and provide the dealership with facts and they should fix it. It's ridiculous how much work I had to do to get them to admit that the Laredo also had the option, but it failed. Don't back down!!!!!!!

Heat/AC Blower fan speed only works on High

Alot of people have the same problem with the fan switch and blown bulbs. There really is no fix for this. Jeep really screwed up when designing the heater control assembly. The cheapest solution is to buy another unit off Ebay. Can always go to the dealer but be ready to PAY for there mistakes.
