Question about 1996 Audi A4
I just bought a 96 a4 and i cant open the rear doors from the inside, i tried flipping the little child lock switch and it still doesnt open. also my cruise control doesnt work. is there some simple solution or is it just shot?
After cking the child lock, try locking and unlocking the manual locks to see if you can hear any movement inside the doors. if all else fails, you have to remove the door panels.. starting from the aft lower corner, (careful not to tear the plastic moisture sheeting, just peel it back), the door panels are normally held in by plastic plugs and screws under the armrest, etc. once inside the door cavity, ck the linkages for wear or any signs of them being disconnected. try all the lock mechanisms again to pinpoint the cause, its good practice to clear all the drain holes at the lower part of the cavity once you're in there.
