You can do it with out pulling motor just take your time and keep things together like exhaust bolts with exhaust bolts ect and make sure to have the heads redone and checked for cracks warp , then valve job and hot tanked , also the exhaust manifolds might warped if you put them back on and cant get each end bolt started take a drill and make holes bigger. gm ex mani's always warp i always make bigger no matter what. good luck and take your time

How do i get the hood open on a 1995 chevy caprice 5.7 if the cable is detached from the latch???

Have a helper push down on the hood close to where the latch is. You, under the front bumper, look up at dead center of hood. If you can see and reach the latch where the cable attached, either grab it with pliers and pull latch in same direction as the cable would and tell your helper to stop pushing down and the hood should pop up. A long screwdriver to pry the latch might work if you can't grab it with pliers.

The car was leaking antifreeze and started smoking in 40 degree weather. I filled it and it stopped leaking, but the engine is still overheating. If its the water pump, how can I replace it on a 1992 chevy...

Is the antifreeze leaking out of a small hole on the water pump housing just behind the pulley?
You need to know exactly where the leak is coming from. If the pump is not leaking then there is another location.
Generally pumps either work or leak. They do not slow down and overheat the engine.
Where did the smoke come from? Under the hood or out the exhaust pipe? If you blew a head gasket and the exhaust was blowing steam that would cause overheating. The original leak under the engine would cause overheating that then will cause other problems like blown head gaskets.
Did you use stop leak or some quick fix? what did you do to stop the original leak?

I used 92 for the first time and now car keeps overheating

The chances of the very minor octane change causing damage like you are describing are so slim they are non existent.

Your overheat problem just happened to coincide with this fill up. If you have motor noise that sounds deep and thick like a hammer inside the motor or followed by a chirping sound you have already blown the motor.

I would start pricing a motor and know that under no terms did this difference in fuel octane (if it was good fuel) cause this damage.

It's really a 1991 chevy caprice classic

After you have pull the hood latch inside try beating on the front corners of the hood to see if it will pop up enuf jus to get ahold of the latch(under the grill on the drivers side). You can also get to the latch from under the car but make sure you pull the cord inside first

Blown Head gasket/Affordable repair?

The average sale price for a 91 Lexus in the US, is $3900.00. Used radiator would be around $200.00. Machine shop to machine the head (highly recommended) $500.00 to $1000.00. Gaskets and hoses another $200.00. I don’t know how much you have into it, but I hope this helps your decision.
