1990 Toyota truck 22re motor no headlights, dash lights, battery is new starter and alternater are good, unable find fusible links, please help

I don't have a wiring diagram but as I recall it has a fuse for each headlight 10amp, a headlight relay and it has to have a good high low beam switch to function as well as a good headlight switch. Good luck

I replaced the alternater battery and 2 fuses and my battery still will not chargeand will not run after startin and disconnecting battery

Hi John, have you measured the battery voltage? Was there sparks when you connected the battery? Are the fuses still intact? Either you have a bad connection or a short, but if all that is fine, and the problem is only with starting, then it could be a solenoid issue, that is a coil driven device that allows high current to the starter motor. I would also check with a current clamp if any current is being drawn while engine is off, or if it is charging when engine is running.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Alternater good but not charging

Did you check your fuses. There are several charging fuses that you need to change. Engine compartment left fuse location (7) 20A, alt sensing fuse (11) 7.5, right side alt fuse (8) 60A

I have a2001 Saturn SL and the battery light came on,Ireplaced the battery and had the Alternater checked but the battery light stays on. Advance Auto Parts said the alternater is not chargeing

Battery light usually means the alternator is not charging, get yourself a multimeter, select Volts, put red probe on positive and black probe on negative while the car is running, it should read above 13 Volts, not higher than high 14s, if it reads 12 volts or lower while engine is running than your charging system, alternator mainly, needs attention, any decent mechanic can check this in 2 minutes.

Battery is only chargeing intermittently I think. Both lights and battery warning dashboard warnings come on, and stay on when I start the car. I believe the lights icon is only to alert you to a failed...

You need to measure the charging voltage and current using a multimeter while Rev'ing the engine. If there is no clean flow to the battery then you need to start from the alternator, the output ac and the charging regulator section which rectifies and controls the charging. The alternator can be taken out and checked individually , if there is a steady AC flow. Check the battery ground and also the charging regulator which is usually an extra unit- trace the lines of the alternator to this unit.

Complete loss of electrical power

test battery if voltage is 13 volts or better check positive and negative cable for clean good conections check in line fusible link by starter on positive cable if all good remove starter with solenoid take to parts store and have it checked solenoid may be bad. if all is good check main fuse usually under hood . If battery voltage is not 13 volts or better have alternater tested have battery load tested after chargeing.

Not chargeing alternater tested good 4 times but the charge light stays on

Check wires behind the alternator for corrosion, looseness and opens. Get shop manual and find the circuitry for the bulb and inspect it for opens . its been a few years but i believe you need B+ on both sides of the bulb to turn it off.

Battery not charging - Lexus ES300

your problem is the main fuse is blown under hood. it will be like a 100 or 120 amp fuse bolted in from sides of fuse/relay box.
