Question about 1996 Nissan Altima

Car wont start

It a 96 nissan altima it turu over but will not start i have a 1996 just bought it 5/26 didn't drive it till 5/29 had to buy plates. daughters car 16yrs. old, drove it 7 miles hade to tow it home. thought it was out of gas. filled it up, 7 dollars. new fuel filter,new plugs,40psi into fuel rail.still doesn't start.

    crankshaft sensor????? or cam sensor. is the check engine light on?

Fuel pressure for you car is 43 psi, might want to check for a weak fuel pump or clogged filter (there are two) one externaly one on the pump, spray brake cleaner in the intake to see if it starts, if it does, then I would change the pump.

Check the fuel pump it might have went out while the car was sitting.

remove whatever is the way like the whole dash unit ,or try a socket 1/4 drive with screwdriver type head

Trouble is insufficient coolant temp. for closed loop fuel control on 96 altima

How old is the battery? Are the connections clean and tight? Have your starting, charging system check and replace your thermostat. Good luck to you.

2001 nissan altima kills after driving long distances and want start till it cools down

had a similiar problem ,if its getting hot that it wont start ,sounds maybe like an overheating problem,check the thermastat to see if its opening an air pockets in youre cooling system..would need more info other wise.

well if the battery was half melted off,, then it must have been sparking,,, witch meens the cars cpu took a lot of power surges,, my gess is its finaly packed up on you, get the cpu sorted out and it will go again

Car wont start

Try spraying some starter fluid down the intake and see if that helps it start. If it does it means that you have a fuel related problem and we can go from there. Let me know what happens and I will try to help some more... Are you sure that you are getting spark to your plugs?...
