Question about 2005 Volkswagen Jetta

Engine won't turn over

I went to turn my car on. The dash lights come on, and the radio will turn on, but it will not let me turn the key any further to start the engine. The car worked fine the night before, don't understand what the problem is or why it won't let the engine turn on.

Yes, it's definitely in park. It seems like some sort of electrical problem because the lights and radio still come on. I am not sure what the problem is.

Battery very weak
Alternator not working
Bad connections at battery posts, or bad connections on ground cable

If you can jump the car to start it, and it will stay running, take it to Advance Auto, Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, etc and have them test your battery/alternator.

If you have no warning lights, either a fuse is blown or the key switch is not powering the computer and the rest of the ignition system.
If you check the fuses and all are in good condition, I would suspect the ignition switch.

2001 Chev Malibu. Turn key on to start car, won't start. No warning lights on no lights on gauge panel. Radio works, dome light work.

check the ground leg to your engine.. it runs off the neg. battery terminal. will connect to frame and engine.. pull it off, wire brush it put it back.. you radio will work, 'cause it draws much less current, and is grounded in dash.

Battery is new, engine won't turn over.

The voltmeter should only go as high as 14-15 volts when the engine is running. I would check for a poor connection between the battery and starter.

2005 Charger won't start, put key in , turn the key and all I get is dash board light and radio but no turn over ! Just nothin' , no click ! Nothing !

sounds like a flat battery but it could be a wire off the starter motor solonoid even a immobilisor problem but the most obvious is a flat battery try charging it up for a day then try it before you go any further

Radio, dome lights and EVIC power problem

I found a paritally blown fuse. When the fuse blew metal pieces ended up partially making contact. After replacing the fuse everything worked great.
